About me

Hello! I’m Katie, Founder and Owner of Unearth Psychotherapy. I’m an experienced trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 7 years of NHS clinical experience, providing psychological intervention and treatment to support people just like you ages 16+ across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

I’m an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the leading organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK. For you, this means you can be reassured that your therapy journey begins with a therapist that meets a nationally recognised standard of clinical excellence and follows strict codes of conduct. I hold a BSc Hons First Class Hons Psychology degree, a postgraduate certificate (PGCert) in Primary Mental Health Care and a postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies. My knowledge and experience also allow me to supervise other therapists, both in training and qualified. 

I offer a genuine, welcoming space for anyone ready to re-claim their life and better understand their own relationship with their mental health.

Beyond the qualifications, I value making a genuine connection with everyone I meet on their therapy journey.  I strive for this to lead my approach to our sessions. Sometimes, it's not all about the training; I believe it's so important to find the right person to start your journey with. Afterall, research strongly suggests that one of the most valuable predictors of mental health recovery is the therapeutic alliance and the relationships we build.
